DESCRIPTION : This is a 3D sound wave model where we have placed a balloon over a speaker. A small mirror is attached to the balloon, which we use to reflect a laser light. When we speak or play sound, the balloon vibrates, causing the mirror to move and create a visual pattern with the reflected laser light.

The sound from the speaker makes the balloon stretch and shake.

Because the mirror is glued to the balloon, it moves along with the vibrations.

We aim a laser at the mirror so the light bounces off onto a wall.

When you talk, the shaking mirror makes the laser dot dance around.

Different sounds create different shapes and wiggly lines on the wall.

It is a simple way to show that sound is actually made of physical vibrations.
