**PROJECT TITLE: Arduino Based Electronic Voting Machine with LCD Display**

**Student Name:** Aniket Ashok Hivrale
**School Name:** ZPPS Waghjainagar
**Class:** 7th A

**Brief Overview of the Project:**
This project introduces a prototype of an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) to modernization of the electoral process. The main aim is to replace the traditional paper-ballot system that is often characterized by slow distribution of results, human error as well as malpractices. Furthermore, the existence of manual systems promotes a lot of paper wastage. This system uses Arduino UNO microcontroller, thus automating the tallying process and, therefore, providing an accurate, high speed and environmentally sustainable alternative to support a transparent election process.

**Problem Statement:**
Traditional paper-ballot voting systems are inefficient and prone to several procedural flaws like time inefficiency, human error, significant paper wastage etc. and this project aims to resolve these issues using EVM technology.

**Technical Specifications and Hardware:**
The system is built using an Arduino UNO (ATmega328P) microcontroller as its central processing unit. The hardware architecture includes:

1: Display Interface - (20X2) LCD Display is used to give real-time status and visualization of
data.

2: Input System - There are fourteen push buttons where the candidates are picked (A-N) on
the same as well as there is a separate Result button

3: Feedback Mechanism - Integrated Buzzer and LED for auditory and visual vote
confirmation

4: Power Supply - The system is flexibly powered through a USB connection or a 9V / 12V
adapter.

**Operational Logic and Reliability:**
This computational logic has been designed to support the integrity of individual votes. On starting the system, the (LCD) is also started and displays a Voting Ready sign.
When a voter makes a decision, the associated platform simply adds a tally to the candidate. A software debouncing period of 300ms is provided to ensure high accuracy of measurements and to prevent the occurrence of a phenomenon known as, double-counting, due to mechanical switch bouncing.
As a result, such reasoning guarantees that one vote is counted when the selector is physically intruded and the system is unable to allow further interaction until the relevant button is released.
The results are accessed in a secure way and shown on the LCD with the help of a special authentication code or with the help of pressing the special button of results.

**Innovation and Future Scalability:**
The most important feature of the electronic voting machine that is its scalability. Currently set up to accept fourteen candidates, it can be easily expanded to allow more than twenty candidates by making appropriate changes to the code in the Arduino. The current prototype stores the voter information in volatile RAM that can be cleared at power outage but later versions will be implemented to use Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) in the process of securing a durable storage of the vote records. Furthermore, the architecture will be used to introduce advanced security protocols, such as password-based administrative resets and a warning system referred to as the Double Vote Alarm. Taken altogether, this initiative is a representation of the effectiveness of embedded systems in solving physical civic needs.

**Conclusion:**
This project is a practical implementation of the use of Embedded Systems to solve real-life problems. This Electronic Voting Machine makes elections safe, quick, and accurate by leveraging the power of digital technology, and thus appeals to the spirit of the National Science Day 2026.

Share the code and the connections. What if I press a pushbutton multiple times. It’ll count all the votes. SO add a delay of 20 seconds to prevent VOTE CHORI
