\*Project Overview\*

The Micro Weather Station is a compact, smart, and low-cost environmental monitoring system designed to measure important weather parameters that affect our daily life. This prototype uses sensors and a microcontroller to collect real-time atmospheric data and display it clearly on an LCD screen.

The project demonstrates how modern embedded systems like ESP32 can be used to build a small-scale weather monitoring station similar to professional meteorological systems.

\*Components Used\*

ESP32 Microcontroller – Main processing unit (high-speed, Wi-Fi enabled controller)

DHT11 Sensor – Measures temperature and humidity

BMP180 Sensor – Measures atmospheric pressure and calculates altitude

LCD Display (16x2 with I2C module) – Displays real-time data

Breadboard – Circuit assembly

LED Indicators (Blue, Green, Yellow) – Temperature-Status indicator

Buzzer – Alert system

\*Working Principle\*

The DHT11 sensor continuously measures:

Temperature (°C)

Humidity (%)

The BMP180 sensor measures:

Atmospheric Pressure (hPa)

Altitude (meters), calculated based on pressure changes.

The collected data is sent to the ESP32 microcontroller.

ESP32 processes the data and sends it to the LCD display for real-time monitoring.

The LED indicators show different environmental conditions:

🟢 Green LED – indicates temperature range between 25 to 30 degree Celsius i.e. normal condition

🔵 Blue LED – indicates temperature range between 30 to 35 degree Celsius i.e. moderately high temperature

🟡 Yellow LED –indicates temperature range between 35 to 40 degree Celsius i.e. high temperature.

The buzzer activates when the values exceed preset safety limits, acting as an alert system.

\*Parameters Measured\*

🌡 Temperature (°C)

💧 Humidity (%)

🌬 Atmospheric Pressure (hPa)

🏔 Altitude (meters)

🎯 \*Objectives of the Project\*:

📌To understand the working of environmental sensors

📌To build a portable and affordable weather monitoring system

📌To promote scientific thinking on National Science Day

📌To apply IoT-based microcontroller technology in real-life applications

\*Applications :\*

1. School and college science experiments

2. Agricultural field monitoring

3. Weather data collection for research

4. Climate awareness projects

5. Smart city environmental monitoring

\*Advantages of Using ESP32\*

Faster processing speed

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability

Low power consumption

Suitable for IoT-based weather monitoring systems.

\*Conclusion\*

The Micro Weather Station successfully demonstrates how modern microcontrollers and sensors can be integrated to measure and monitor real-time environmental conditions. It is compact, efficient, and educational, making it highly useful for students and researchers.

This project reflects the true spirit of National Science Day by promoting innovation, scientific curiosity, and practical learning.
