We are happy to announce the “Tinkerer of the Day” from the one-day hands-on Weather Hackathon, held on 27 February 2026, as part of the National Science Day 2026 celebrations at Kalpakghar, Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park.

The Hackathon at PC Science Park was an excellent initiative by > Kalpakghar* in encouraging students to apply technology to solve real-world problems. It was very interesting to observe students try to develop a working weather monitor with basic components such as a microcontroller development board, some sensors, and a display. Many teams succeeded with some help from the internet, and one could sense that students had developed a sense of purpose and accomplishment from the entire exercise. Since all tables had at least one laptop available, 5 marks were allocated to all participating teams.
Total: 45 points
Qualifying marks for “Tinkerer of the Day”: 20 marks and above
