Problem Statement
Many students Memorize physics concepts, but don’t understand how they work in real life.
One of the concept “Reflection of light” and how mirrors change the path of light is what I am trying to show case in this project. So to understand these concept we focus on the problem “How can an object disappear without being removed?“
Solution
A magic bank is a coin bank that makes objects disappear or produces objects from an empty box. A magic bank (Box) works by using a strategically placed mirror inside the box, usually angled at 45°. Which reflects the opposite side of the box, creating an illusion that the box is empty when a coin is dropped in. As it actually falls behind the mirror and out of sight.
How Reflection Works in the Magic Box
-
A plane mirror is placed inside the box at about 45° angle.
-
When you look into the box, light from the opposite wall of the box strikes the mirror.
-
The mirror reflects that light toward your eyes.
-
Since your eyes receive light from the opposite wall, the box appears empty.
